Weekly training runs are the heart & soul of our group.
We generally meet three days a week - Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday. Paces vary and everyone is welcome.
Tuesday Training Run:
Start time: *NEW TIME* 5:30 p.m. sharp
Location: Starts & finishes at the Seminole-Wekiva trail entrance, located behind Panera Bread, near the intersection of Lake Mary Blvd. & International Parkway in Lake Mary. Limited parking is available. Map
Distance: maximum of 8 miles.
Description: A scenic out-and-back run along the Seminole-Wekiva trail and quiet neighborhoods in between E.E. Williamson Road and Long Pond Road in Lake Mary. There are a few rolling hills on this course. Our group usually does intervals or other speedwork during this run.
The Hill Course:
Day & Start time: Varies depending on the time of year. We do not run this course weekly. If we do, it’s generally around 6:30 p.m., or 7:00 a.m. on the weekends.
Location: Starts & finishes at the intersection of U.S. 17-92 and Golf Club Drive in DeLand, adjacent to Wasabi restaurant. Map
Distance: 9 miles.
Description: A challenging course containing several steep hills. This run is not for the fainthearted! A water stop is provided during LMRK group runs. The DeLand Hill Course is also home to the annual Run for the Hill of it. (RFTHOI).
Saturday Long Run:
Start time: varies; but generally 6:00 or 7:00 a.m., depending on the time of year
Location: Starts & finishes at the trailhead park, at the intersection of Lake Mary Blvd. & Rinehart Road in Lake Mary. Map
Distance: 14 miles or more.
Description: Our long run courses vary, depending on the distance we're running that day. These long runs usually include Lake Mary/Heathrow neighborhoods and area trails. Water stops are provided for LMRK group runs.
